Other Manufacturers of Pens
|
Pens by manufacturers from whom I less commonly have pens. May be great, or just second
line manufacturers.

ECO Pelikan Clone
|
This Pelikan copy is actually an excellent pen on its own.
I know nothing about ECO, but this one has a medium flex nib. It's a piston
filler. The hardware is in very good condition, with a little brassing of
the cap band.
5", 125 mm. (ignore the water droplets on the nib - I rinsed it before
shooting and clearly forgot to wipe the water off.)
Price: $150 inclusive of S/H/I ON

Morrison Gold Plated Overlay
|
Gold plated overlay pen. Fair bit of plating wear, although less than most Morrisons.
14Kt flexible fine-medium nib. 5 ", 127 mm.
Price: $75 inclusive of S/H/I

Wearever "Big Red"
|
Wearever copy of a Parker Duofold. Not everyone could afford the real thing! Fine plated nib with some
wear. Lever filler. 5 3/16", 131 mm. Decent condition for a very representative pen from the '30s.
Price: $50 inclusive of S/H/I

Lamy Ratio 57
|
It's a not-very-fancy piston filler, still in the box with the original box, papers, and labels.
This one has a fine nib, probably gold-plated steel. Light weight. 5 1/8", 132 cm. Appears unused.
Price: $50 inclusive of S/H/I

Filigree Ringtop
|
Looks like a Waterman filigree, but it's not. Quite a bit of brassing.
Still pretty! Medium flexible 14 Kt nib. Eyedropper filler. 3 1/2", 90 mm.
Price: $100 inclusive of S/H/I

Selfeed Pencil
|
Gorgeous long press-to-advance pencil (5 3/4", 145 mm). Works. A few minor dings. Beautiful! No idea if it's
gold plated or filled - color is even with no brassing except ball of the clip.
Price: $40 inclusive of S/H/I

Majestic in Gray Basketweave
|
Let's just say this pen drove my late and not very lamented scanner stark raving bonkers. It's really a smooth basketweave
pattern - nothing like the radio-interference pattern above. Oh, well. Majestic was a 2nd line maker in the US.
This is an econo pen whose lightly plated fixtures have mercifully survived in an isolated drawer in some quiet village -
who knows where. It looks great - super condition. It has a large, plated "Warranted Wingflow" nib that I will warrant
is a smooth writing medium (and bears no physical or evolutionary resemblance to a Chilton Wingflow).
Price: $60 inclusive of S/H/I

Hicks Combo - 14K (Solid gold...)
|
On a scan, looks can be deceiving. this Hicks combo is 14K gold. It's a pen and pencil combo.
The pen is now an eye-dropper filler with a WS Hicks Sons nib. I've seen similar pens, and most had a small sac. I suspect this one
is incomplete. Gorgeous, but not as functional as it should be. There are couple of mild dents (you can see one in the
scan near the clip), but pen is basically in good shape. The clips is tighter than it looks, but
still has that Hicks' flair. For those who remember the F and S Brown Book, a pen similar to this combo was on the title page.

Kaweco 400
|
I have one of these, mint in the box. It has a fine plated nib, piston fillers, blue translucent ink-view
section to the barrel, and a nice box. Its a plain black plastic pen. Just over 5", 13 cm. Not fancy. I'd
guess 50s or 60s as the era.
Price: $65 inclusive of S/H/I

Black "Le Grand" by Colibri
|
This is a nice modern pen. Nothing amazing, just solid. It has nice weight, a plated nib
with a very smooth, fine point, It's a cartridge/converter pen. The look is obviously borrowed from Mont Blanc,
the name meant to sound Italian. I believe the manufacturer is in the Republic of China. Despite this hybrid background,
the pen is well made, and I'll bet you'll be happy using it as long as you aren't expecting a super-sophisticated writing
implement. Basically new in the box.

Harris
|
This the pen for collectors of pretty pens by obscure manufacturers. The nib is
14 kt F/M and the pen is just shy of 5" in length with a clear ink-vue section. The clip has undergone some
repair - I wouldn't stress it too badly. The pen isn't a great writer, but has value as a really
pretty pen from an uncommon maker.
Price: $60 inclusive of S/H/I

Diamond Point Jade
|
A good sized, not very fancy Diamond Point. Oversize width. The cap lip is gone -
shaved down to the cap band. The nib is a #8 Warranted that's flexible and F-M. Lever filler.
5 1/4", 133 mm. Some irregularity to the cap surface - probably set down on a warm dashboard one day -
mild, but present. This would be a great pen to actually use - I like the way it writes.
Price: $50 inclusive of S/H/I
